exue84
Hello everyone @ InsanelyMac I've been enjoying trying to get my UL30A hackintoshed and It's been both a pain and enjoyment. I've come so far that I can log on to OS X Snow Leopard (hazard 10.6.6i) and the main components work so far. I went through the install by getting VirtualBox on my stationary and set it all up for hazard 10.6.6i and it worked fine so I made a USB version, had to include Chameleon 2 RC4 and all that. Installed OS X and then I installed Windows 7 for dual boot purpose. I have 2 questions which I havn't found the answers to yet, 1) How do I boot up OS X without the need of the USB stick anymore? (As mentioned everything runs perfect with the stick, the dual booting part too.) 2) Is anyone able to give me some help/information regarding the particular hardware of the laptop? I havn't given it much time after the installation part but I need to find drivers for network/sound/display. If you need specific information regarding the laptop I'll be able to fetch them as soon as I'm back home. Sincerely, Exue Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/268548-installed-hazard-1066i-on-an-asus-ul30a/ Share on other sites
Kingdomseed
For your first question, there is a section on these forms that deal with dual-booting: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4749 There is another helpful guide I found on another website, but they require you to use a retail install and specialized tools developed by them. A google search brings up a lot of this subject. If you want help with your hardware, you have to post your specs. As detailed as possible. For example: 2GHz AMD CPU, nVidia graphics card, etc = Bad. That information doesn't help anyone. But if you post something detailed, like: Core i7 2600M 3GHz, nVidia 240 GTX, etc, you will be more likely to get a lot of help. In many cases, the modifier of your specific build of OSX (hasard in this case) should have some kexts available in their distro. Others can be found here and by googling.
