  1. Based on a modified DSDT and other changes done by nozyczek, I and a few others were able to get Lion running on an Acer Aspire Revo R3700 nettop. Graphics, CPU, RAM, and network were all detected correctly and work 100%. Audio is broken, wifi is broken and the device will only boot from a USB stick. I have decided to try and undertake editing a DSDT but I don't really know what I am doing. I am willing to learn however and I am rather tech savy. So I was wondering if there were any more experienced person who could help show me the ropes as it were or give me some pointers on how to get this done. I have the DSDT for the computer already downloaded and decompiled into an .aml. I also have the similarly specced Jetway's modified DSDT and original DSDT. Any help is much appreciated.
  2. OSX Working on Acer Aspire Revo R3700

For those who have been PM'ing me and those who will be PM'ing me, you can also do the following Google search: install osx on aspire revo r3700 Check out the first link. As an update: S/PDIF doesn't seem to work but the hardware is a selectable option in the sound settings ( I get no sound). Not sure if HDMI sound works. WLAN doesn't work but a USB WLAN works. I have heard of Lion working but I have not been able to invest the time and effort into getting that working. 10.6.8 does not work. [PCI Configuration begin] is usually where it gets stuck. Anyhow, hope this helps.
  3. Verifying DMI Pool data

What version of OS X are you running? Is it vanilla or not? What kind of hardware are you running os x on? These are questions that need to be answered to help you solve this problem. For starters, here is another thread in these forms that might help: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=213796
  4. For your first question, there is a section on these forms that deal with dual-booting: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4749 There is another helpful guide I found on another website, but they require you to use a retail install and specialized tools developed by them. A google search brings up a lot of this subject. If you want help with your hardware, you have to post your specs. As detailed as possible. For example: 2GHz AMD CPU, nVidia graphics card, etc = Bad. That information doesn't help anyone. But if you post something detailed, like: Core i7 2600M 3GHz, nVidia 240 GTX, etc, you will be more likely to get a lot of help. In many cases, the modifier of your specific build of OSX (hasard in this case) should have some kexts available in their distro. Others can be found here and by googling.
  5. Any torrent program does this? Or just one torrent program? Which one do you use?
  6. How should I update 10.6.0

From what I understand, with most modified distributions of OS X like Hasard, you need to find an update by them. Generally, Apple Software Update won't work or will break stuff.
  7. OSX Working on Acer Aspire Revo R3700

Using a guide I found elsewhere (pm for link) I was able to get my REVO R3700 to run Snow Leopard 10.6.7. Specs: Intel D525 1.8 GHz nVidia ION 2 4GB DDR3 80GB Intel 320 SSD Realtek Audio (working) Realtek Ethernet (working) Wifi module (not working) S/PDIF (not working) USB ports all working HDMI (working) Currently running smooth as butter. Hardware acceleration is up and running and I have the resolution set at 1080p. It's awesome!
  8. Introduce yourself.

Hey everyone, the name is Jason! I am not exactly new to these forums or the hackintosh scene, but this marks the first time that I am going all in on hackintosh. I am currently a student at the University of Texas at Arlington studying French and Linguistics (double major). I have a huge passion for technology and gadgets. I read engadget regularly and I love the Lord Jesus. I have been tweaking, upgrading, fixing, and hacking computers since I was in junior high. My dad used to complain about how after I would get on his computer, nothing would work anymore. Well, you learn by making mistakes! I am no expert in any one thing computer related. I am more of a jack of all trades type of person. I know how to troubleshoot computer problems because I have "broken" mine so many times and had to fix it! Anyhow, I own an Acer Aspire Revo R3700 with an Intel D525 clocked at 1.8GHz, 4GB of DDR3, Intel 320 series 80gb SSD, nVidia ION 2 on-board and some realtek audio/network hardware. I currently have Snow Leopard 10.6.7 up and running! It marks the first real success for me and OSX. For me, this is the holy grail of computer operating systems. It is the one that has eluded my skills to modify sufficiently and install in a fashion where everything is working well. I had tried in the past to install it on a Dell Laptop running AMD hardware and a Radeon 3200 HD with almost no success. Anyhow, I look forward to learning a lot from the masters of hackery here and hope I can eventually contribute to the project.
  9. integrated video ATI HD3200

iDeneb (the latest one) installed using the 2400 pcie kext and the display works. I dont think its graphics accelerated though.
