bisk
Hi all. I'm having an interesting problem with a Fujitsu Lifebook A6020. I've managed a full vanilla install of Snow Leopard 10.6.8 v1.1 and most everything is OK except for one BIG problem. The internal LCD display is unusable unless I connect and external display to the VGA port. If I attach an external display, I get QE/CI, ResMan and a fully working dual desktop. There is a small distorted band along the bottom of the LCD where things get stretched like in the "tall" mirror at the amusement park but otherwise it all looks good and the external display is perfect. If I disconnect the external display at any time, the LCD goes gray/scrambled and unreadable. It doesn't matter if the external display is powered up or even plugged in to power but it must be connected via video cable. I tried the paper clip/staple trick on the external VGA port but that did not help. I have Chameleon RC5r752 as my boot manager and have only needed to override 2 stock Apple kexts to make this install go. AppleACPIPlatform.kext IOPCIFamily.kext This was only necessary to get to 10.6.8 since the c.a.B.plist "npci=0x2000" mod does not work on this system. I did also need to make a simple GFX0 mod to the DSDT to get Chameleon/Graphics Enabler to see the video chip properly but this was only needed for RC5r752 as RC5r541 got me QE w/o the DSDT mod. This laptop has the following specs ... Intel 1.73GHz C2D (T5600?) Intel 945GM Express chipset Intel GMA950 video (0x27a2) 4GB RAM 100GB HDD Intel WiFi (unsupported) I use a USB WiFi nub Marvell wired ethernet (fully working) Any and all insights welcome !
