Just wanted to share my working build experience on a Gibabyte G41M-E2SL mobo. I want to thank all the people who have contributed their experiences for my successful hac and wanted to give back some of what I learned along the way. I'm not a great writer, but I'll try and give a step by step method for what worked for me. First off, what I've got (all working):

G41M-E2SL Rev 1.4

-onboard Realtek NIC

-onboard audio

-onboard graphics

GE Wireless Keyboard and Mouse (PS2)

Sabrent Mini Bluethooth USB adapter

Sabrent USB 2.0 Wireless (Lan) 802.11N

Lion OSx 10.7.1

Advantage for me with my build: Time machine backup of my iMac.

Here's how to do it:

1. Obtain Lion OSx install application

2. Download Kakewalk

3. Install Kakewalk onto 8GB USB stick

4. Boot up with Kakewalk

5. Use disk utility to partition your drive

6. Instead of installing Lion, go to Utilities and choose Restore from Time Machine Backup

7. When complete reboot using harddrive

8. Install Kakewalk onto computer

9. Install any software updates

10. For graphics/video, I edited com.apple.boot.plist in E/E folder with:

<key>Graphics Mode</key> (use this line instead of other "Graphic" line)

<string>1920x1080x64<string>

<string>Yes</string>

Although I do not get 1920 x 1080 I'm geting 1280 x 1024 which looks better on my display than the 1024 x 768 that it had. Took me a lot of research to finally get this to work.

11. For audio, again, took me a lot of research/trial and error, but I think I've got it. Install AppleHDAdisabler.kext with kext utility. It puts it in S/L/E. I copied it also into E/E. Install VodooHDA 2.7.3 with kext utility. Make sure you do not have any other HDA enablers in these folders or you will get a KP. In fact, I got a KP when installing Vodoo, but when I rebooted, everything including sound worked fine. The AppleHDAdisabler is supposed to prevent AppleHDA which gets changed with every Apple update to not interfere with Vodoo (I think), or else sound gets muffed every update.

12. For my wireless PS2 keyboard and mouse, I had to buy a Belkin USB to PS2 converter which works great, just one USB port used for both devices.

13. For the wireless ethernet, I downloaded the driver from the realtek site for a RTL8188S WLAN

14. The Bluetooth adapter was the easiest, PNP.

If any has any questions or needs files, let me know.

The only two things that I have issues with are:

1. I couldn't get my webcam to work properly. Worked once with Macam, but then stops.

2. Certain webpages like youtube cause my browser to beachball and I have to force quit the browser.

I'd love to get these two resolved if anyone has any suggestions.

I had the same problem with 10.7.1 and safari....I updated to 10.7.2 and used the latest #####... it is a little better but it seems like safari runs fine until i go to a site that has videos or a lot of flash player {censored} the it slows way down. if i let it sit awhile safari runs good again.

have you found any solutions?????

Hi Nandor690,

I just recently updated my flash player, yesterday, and it looks like it cleared up, however, when I go to youtube, it plays the sound, but not the video. Video and sound work fine on clips on facebook though.

I might try that and see what happens. I was going to the prefereces in the safari menu bar tab and turning off the Java and Java Script.. then going to the website and then reenabling them then refresh. That seemed to work good. It is definitely a problem with flash and Java

Have you tried using <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

in the org.chameleon.boot.plist instead of putting the resolution in to see if you can get full resolution?

Thanks for the tip. I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure I tried that, and then that was the line that I erased and replaced. So far, I've been happy with my resolution.

I don't really use Safari much. I'm more of a firefox user.
