SMCentral Posted September 8, 2011 Share Posted September 8, 2011 So basically, I have a ATI ASUS 4870 HD 512MB card. Really good card, if you ask me. I can boot into the system via -x however if I boot into the system normally, I get this screen. What is the cause of this? How can I fix it? Many thanks. SMCentral Posted September 8, 2011 Author Share Posted September 8, 2011 It was all working fine by replacing the ATI4800Controller.kext, ATIFramebuffer.kext and ATISupport.kext with the 10.6.2 version along with a modified EVOenabler.kext. However, I updated to 10.6.8 and I got that screen glitch error so I reinstalled again and now I cannot get my ATI 4870 HD to work. The link I provided gives a HowTo for mobile cards, however, it may also help you fix your kext for your desktop card. It's strange though.
