I just bought the following PC parts:

Asus A8N-VM CSM, G.Skill 1GB DDR ZX PC3200, NEC ND3550 16x16 +/- DVDRW and a Seagate Barracuda 7200 10.9 160GB HDD. I bought some other parts too a HTPC case and some cables etc. but these aren't important to my question. I also have an Athlon 64 San Diego 3700 and an nVidia Geforce 6600GT lying around as spare parts.

The main reason I bought these was for to build a HTPC. Anyway, I've installed OSx86 a few times before (running it on my laptop), however I had some problems getting my LAN to work on my desktop, so I eventually gave up and reinstalled Windows. Anyway, I was wondering if I would run into any compatiblity problems if I were to install OSx86 on the hardware listed above - mainly the motherboard, since I can't find anything on it on the wiki page.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps :compress:

The only way to really know for sure is to try. I would hazard a guess and say yes, you probably will have some issues, but the extent to which they'll make your system unusable is up in the air until you try it. The OS seems to be much happier on Intel processors (and boards) than AMD systems. (In my experience...)

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll just have to try it. Although i have done a bit more digging and found that their are reports of audio not working on the board. However from what I read those reports were only of the A8N-VM (non-CSM) version of the motherboard, which has the nForce 410 chipset; rather than the 430 chipset that my board will have.

Does anyone else have any experience with this motherboard, or any comments?

You will have issue's with sound and network..

to get sound to work. Use the azalia method:

I'm still trying to get the network working on mine. (would prefer not having to go buy one)
