I have successfully installed snow leopard 10.6.6 and enabled QE/CI with full resolution options on the 5870 mobility, but the problem is that the laptop only outputs the signal from the HDMI!!!! in the laptop I get only a black screen. bassistas Posted September 2, 2011 Author Share Posted September 2, 2011 anyone? I also read this tutorial and done the Forced EDID. My laptop recognise (also before done this with the forced EDID) the internal monitor (vendor id etc. read in switchresX) and its maximum resolution in system preferences -> displays but when I select it only turns the backlight of the screen on with black picture. My laptop has EDID ver. 1.4 and I read somewhere that this maybe a problem and the EDID viewer from windows cannot read correctly the EDID values. Its very strange that people with excact same laptop with same specs had no problem and internal screen worked with all outputs (HDMI,VGA etc.).
