Steam & Counterstrike Problems

Greetings,

 

For my own reference and others who installed Lion. Steam games, including Counterstrike, on some hackmac systems were playing incredibly laggy, with serious choppy graphics which deemed it simply unplayable. There are systems such as laptops and desktops that have this major Steam client problem. This fix solves it for both systems:

 

Backup to a different location (optional), and remove from (System/Library/Extensions):

 

AppleGraphicsPowerManagment.kext

 

Be sure to execute Kext Wizard or your favorite cache utility to clear out all caches in the system and then reboot.
