soritong
Hey all. I've decided to give a Hackintosh another shot and tried reinstalling it on my extra drive I have laying around. I'm running the pre-patched copy of SnowLeo and I'm able to get the install running and installs with no issues. When I try to boot, it gets to the grey screen and then KPs. I tried -v and saw it getting stuck on the nForceLAN section, so I did a reinstall without the nForceLAN kexts. It still KPs at the same screen minus the nForceLAN part (it just throws two quick messages about the nForceATA controller). I'm able to start it up using safe mode with no issues. After numerous uninstalls and reinstalls, I'm starting to get frustrated and I'm hoping someone else can help me out. I'm running an nForce7 mobo with a GeForce 460 and Core 2 Duo. Update: I've installed the 64bit nForceATA kext and the updated nForceLAN kext from the install guides. Rebooted with -v -f. System goes through the boot process fine now. Just have to figure out how to install graphics drivers. soritong
Well, while it boots up normally I have a larger issue on my hands. No LAN. I tried various kexts but still come up short. Any suggestions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266628-new-install-freezingkp-on-boot/#findComment-1741162 Share on other sites
