Hi there,

First of all, I must say this forum is fantastic, thanks to everyone who's involved in keeping this place online. I've been lurking for a while whilst doing my research before I took the plunge. I've always been interested in understanding Mac OS a bit more, and the last few days I decided to try and build myself a Hackintosh.

I used #####/Leopard Retail Disc install method and various kexts to get everything to work (happy to post more information about this laptop if anyone is interested? ((Toshiba Satellite X200-20S)) Although I don't think it's particularly common laptop).

The only thing I couldn't get to work is my Intel 4965 wireless card, so I did a bit of research and got a Broadcom BCM4311 card and installed it. I've tried to do as much of my own research (including searches here and on other forums) but I can't find a way of getting it to work.

The PC seems to detect it, but when I try and turn airport on, it asks me for my password and looks like it's going to work, but sadly Airport never turns on. I get the icon appear in the taskbar at the top, trying to turn it on from there doesn't work either.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as to what I need to install to get this to work. Sorry if this seems like an obvious or easy thing to do, but I'm very new to the world of Mac OS and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing yet to be honest, but I am keen to learn and researching as much information myself as possible. If you can help me get over this stumbling block I'd greatly appreciate it :)

Thanks again for taking the time to read this.

All the best

James

i ran into same problem for x205-Sxxx i hear tape on pin 20 should do trick but i think the toshiba valuezone is a feature for windows to control.

turns on wireless and bluetooth. but theres a bluetooth enabling kext made to turn on bluetooth but i dont know if it turns on wireless.

try pin 20 tape.

i have made a post in the bios-mods forum to see if it could be bypassed but didnt get any replies with a yes.

Thankyou very much for your reply LatinMcG, really appreciate it ;)

Did you ever get a card working on the X205? I'm happy to change to another wireless card if necessary.

However, I will try this modification tomorrow and will report back with the outcome.

Thanks again for your time

James

EDIT :

I couldn't wait until the morning to try your suggestion, so I just had a go. Now writing this post running off my wireless network, blanking off Pin20 as you suggested worked perfectly!!

You sir are a genius !! :o:)

Thanks for the help :)
