You-Are-Pwned
I installed a final Lion build a few days ago. It worked fine for me with only FakeSMC.kext to make it boot correctly. I additionally installed VoodooHDA.kext. It worked correctly, as should, until I installed the new 10.7.1 update. After that, it couldn't recognize my root device. When it gets to the point, where it should say "Got boot device", I get idling, and then "Still waiting for root device" after some time. I haven't yet tried downgrading the kernel, because it would be bad having an old kernel version. When I tried to open the 10.7.1 update in Pacifist, there was no updated kexts for the chipsets. So now I'm very confused about the problem, and don't know how to fix it. Link to error screen: http://goput.it/mld.jpg My System Information: EFI Loader: XPC 0.85 (don't say I should update, because this version r0xx0rz) Motherboard: MSI G43M2 Chipset: Intel G43 / ICH10R Thanks in advance for the help! EDIT: Downgraded the kernel to DP4 one, still the same thing. What can be the problem, if the updated kexts in 10.7.1 are only graphic drivers? SushiChef
Something similar happened to me, turns out AHCI got turned off my bios, as well as HPET mode being set to 32 bit. After enabling AHCI and setting HPET to 64 bit, i booted fine. Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266244-still-waiting-for-root-device-after-update-to-1071/#findComment-1741343 Share on other sites
