I have a running Lion on Hackintosh, with only a few lingering problems that I'm aware of:

  • Sleep wasn't working, but I've been using Please Sleep and that seems to work okay.
  • Dock magnification doesn't seem to work on hover, but otherwise, video effects are working (ripple effect on adding widgets, translucent menu, rotating chess board).
  • Restart and shutdown don't work completely with dual monitors, and this is the biggest issue I'd like to resolve.

Restart and shutdown work fine when I just have one monitor plugged in, but not when I plug in both. Dual monitors work fine in general, but when I try to reboot or shutdown, the computer almost completely shuts down, but the fans keep running, etc. I have to hold down the power button to complete the shut down.

Would this be fixed with a custom kext, or a DSDT patch? I tried evoreboot.kext and openhaltrestart.kext (just one at a time), but they didn't work. I tried a custom DSDT that Searay_X had provided me a long time ago and tried without the custom DSDT, but it didn't seem to help.

Any ideas, guys?

I'm in the same boat, but only after I upgraded my video card to a GTX580. All worked fine with my GTX285, only had FakeSMC.kext and a IONetworkingFamily.kext in /Extra with DSDT patched to have shutdown/sleep/restart working.

Never thought about having just one monitor plugged in to see if it would shutdown but I'll give it a try to see if I have simlar results.
