Survival
Hi, I have an asus wifi deluxe card and succesfully installed the RT2500 drivers (http://www.ralinktech.com/drivers/Mac/RTCardBus%20D60-1.0.9.0%20D61-1.0.2.0%20UI-1.2.8.0_2006_08_31.dmg). After installing the driver, I restarted and it detected my card. I set up a profile within the RAlink app and it says that I am connected to my network. However, when I start Safari, I can not connect to any servers. I've tried pinging. I've searched and saw somthing on Apple's site however I wasn't using PPPoE. In Network prefernces, it recognises the card but I can't connect to the internet. The DHCP tab shows; IP: 169.254.xx.xxx Subnet: 255.255.0.0 in other boxes nothing is shown. I think I've missed somthing simple out, any ideas? Thanks alot, Survival Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26575-connects-to-router-but-can-not-access-the-internet/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
The DHCP tab shows; IP: 169.254.xx.xxx Subnet: 255.255.0.0 I don't think it is getting an IP from the router. The 169.x.x.x series is a default IP address. Try setting the TCP/IP to "DHCP with manual address" and manually set the IP to something in the router's IP range. Survival
Great! It works, Thanks alot. For future reference, I went into my routers stats page, wrote down the DHCP Start IP and the ones currently in use. I then went to System Preferences -View >Network > TCP/IP Settings > I selected DHCP with manual address and entered a IP that my router said was not in use. Thanks.
