By "amd enabler", do you mean the "10.4.6 SemjaZa's v1.2 AMD Decrypts"?

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=4249

also the panic only occurs when the install dvd is in the drive and you do a hard drive boot, when the dvd is out, a b0 error at boot occurs.

To get rid of the b0 error, try this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=22844

Otherwise, try using these boot parameters to see if this gets past the panic:

platform=X86PC cpus=1 idlehalt=0

yes that would be the one

also i've heard that sse3 on x2 amd causes kernel panic but i've also heard that it works...and i have no idea which is the case.

also i did a previous dual boot setup using acronis os selecter and made the osx partition active and despite that the b0 error came up.

  • 2 weeks later...

I get the exact same error as shown in those pics. I tried the boot args but got the same error. I also have an AMD x2 cpu, AND an ATI motherboard...possibly linked. I installed those same three options as well (amd base, sse3, and the other one...can't remember the name). Still trying to boot!

i have since got my comp working for amd x2 cpu

use sse2 (sse3 incompatable with os x and ath x2 cpu reason unknown)

DONT use ati chipset motherboards

i used a crossfire xpress 3200 and it recognises my cpu as 500mhz not 3ghz and audio/lan/usb2/firewire dont work.

however i switched motherboards with a nforce 4 sli and lan/audio/usb2/firewire work fine and it recognises my cpu as a "3 ghz amd athlon dual core"

Right i am another person that gets this error, i have activated the partition but if i try and use fdisk on the mac boot cd it brings up something called bash, how can i get fdisk to load or what are the instructions to use fdisk from bash. I will try again and use the SSE2 as i can use both of the patches, oh and by the way i am using:

My setup is:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ S939 CPU

Asrock 939 DUAL-SATA2 Motherboard

160 GB ATA HDD

80 GB IDE HDD

And i have installed os x to the 80 GB hard drive.

Also how do you use the boot parametres?

This is the screen i get now: http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/5896/dscf0046wg7.jpg

ok to set your os x hfs partition to active load the os x install dvd

when the tools menu loada at the very top (after pessing next at the first prompt screen)

go to utilities > terminal

to find out the os command line name for your hard drive/partition type the following command

diskutils list

there should be a line that says something like this

hfs+ partition /dev/disk0s1

this is your mac os x partition

to set it to active type this command and note that it is case sesitive:

bless --device /dev/disk0s1 --setBoot --verbose

this does the exact same thing as the fdisk method however, to me, it is a much quicker, and easier way of seting your partition to active.
