Darth Staalwart
Hello there! I've searched for days now about this issue, still with no solution. I hope someone can give me some information about it. I recently finished installing (after some 12 previous failed attempts) MacOS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my Dell D430, using iATKOS S3 v2. The Dell has stock features (Intel Core2Duo 1.33, 2GB RAM, 120GB IDE HDD, Intel 945GMS graphics, Sigmatel 9200 HDA, Intel Wireless LAN and Ethernet, etc.) By the way, my only successful attempt to install was using RTC 32-bit and Apple PS/2 kext, not Voodoo (with normal RTC the installation kept panicking, and with Voodoo PS/2 neither the keyboard nor the trackpad worked), and also didn't select any special hardware (trying to add even the Ethernet caused a panic). Trouble is, now it works, but only when hooked to an external display! When I try to switcn between displays - with Fn+F8 -, the internal display fires up, but distorted, as in a wrong Hz frequency, and switching it back to the external display it keeps distorted. The only solution is to shut down and restart the laptop, always with the external display, and first the internal display turns on with the gray-with-Apple-logo boot screen first, and then shuts down, passing the image to the external screen. Now, I'm also working on network and audio (which I don't have at the moment, but that's for another topic), but at the moment I need to make the internal display to work. Any ideas? chasmataz
osxlatitude.com get their package for the 430 works really sweet (i'm using to post this reply). also look for leppy700 disc, works perfect on the latitudes like you're going to hear a million times "google is your friend" the latitudes are pretty much a walk in the park until you get to the 630s and 830s w/intel3100 graphics, they are a freaking pain the butt, but workable. you really need the dsdt.aml file from osxlatitude, it cleared up all my issues try to get away from iatkos if you can, it can make a real mess of things when upgrading.
