VirTERM
Hi, I have JaS 10.4.7 installed with Semjaza patches applied after. Everything works great incl the ripple effect in widgets The only problem is that I can not install certain applications?!?!? The installer is just stack and doesn't allow to press continue... My hardware: A8n32-sli deluxe ATI Radeon X-1600PRo (512MB) 2GB of RAM AMD Athlon 64X2 4400+ Several drives (running MacOS from PATA) Any ideas? VirTERM
hmm, this only applies to certain apps... I installed MS Office without any problem, however FCP 5.1 gets stack. Same with USB upgrade patch... W Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26538-1047-cant-install-applications/#findComment-179970 Share on other sites
mao5
me too, I can not install ilife06 and QIM on 10.4.7 x86, I think it relates to AMD cpu. I am using Athlon 64 3000+ (Socket 939, Winchester). BTW, I can install Office 2004 and Photoshop CS2 without any problem. VirTERM
Same here , Couldn't install iWork, iLife nor Apperture. I didn't have that problem with 1.4.6 (JaS). Is there a solution (missing patch), or should I go back to 10.4.6? W Interesting, I have the same problem with CS2, so it's not consistent across AMD systems.... cbmkgd
Seems to be a problem for some amd users. mao5
interesting enough, if I choose intel SSE2 and intel SSE3 in custom install option, 10.4.7 can not recognize my ALC850 sound chip, but if I only choose intel SSE3, not choose intel SSE2 in custom install option, 10.4.7 can recognize my ALC850. cbmkgd
A8n32 has nf4 chipset, with which OSX has problems writing on sata disks. No solutions yet. So better use pata disk. Usually an F-key directs you to such a choice; consult your board's manual. macmurdo
I was having the same problem and corrected it by doing a "Get Info" on the Installer in Utilities and checking the "Open with Rosetta" option. This allowed me to install iLife and iTunes fine. Hope this helps. Hi,I have JaS 10.4.7 installed with Semjaza patches applied after. VirTERM
Ok, I gave up and found a better way.... I installed 10.4.6 JAS DVD then I installed my network drivers (forcedeth) then I installed ATI Radeon drivers from 10.4.7 JaS DVD (so far the best support for X1600 cards) then I installed 10.4.7 update from Apple then semjaza 10.4.7 Everythin is working as expected, can install application, ripple effect is there. So far so good. Wojtek Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26538-1047-cant-install-applications/#findComment-181605 Share on other sites
