Topic pretty much says it all. My machine is an evga x58 FTW motherboard with a i7 920 @ 4.2 ghz and 4 gigs of xms 3 1600 ram. I have installed this several times via the brazilian boot cd from a while back because when I tried to install using ##### I get stuck at still waiting for root devices regardless what devices I have plugged up in what orders.

I have tried several different hard drives to figure this out and I still do not know why I can't upgrade my system past this. Software update doesn't work either. I have tried all the combo installs.

Is there a way to just straight up in stall lion without installing snow leopard? I'm installing lion because my video card is a gtx 580 and snow leopard just doesn't have support for it at all.

I figured out how to install/update to 10.6.6 to get to Lion. I had to use Hazard's 10.6.6 distro to get it to work (find it however you can) but I also had to copy my own dsdt.aml and Extra folder over. I also copied over my applications folder and a couple other bits to where the install.dmg I made was, but it got everything working. So to this end my 10.6.6 install and beyond has worked exactly as it should save the whole video card problem.

Thanks again insanelymac, I love this forum.
