Hello,

 

I`ve tried to install osx, but it didnt work, it went to grey screen and stuck, or "Still waiting for root device", or restarted after chameleon logo. Tried on both sata and ide hdds, used only sata cd/dvd. Searched forum, googled, but couldnt find any info installing osx on this mobo/system.

Need some help, or how to/step by step guide.

CPU: Phenom II X6 1055T

MoBo: Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H (rev 3.4)

MoBo Chipset: AMD760G; AMD SB710 [CPU-Z shows 780G and SB700]

Ram: 2 x Kingston 2 GB DDR3-1600 KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GX

Video Card: Sapphire HD5770

I pretty new at this so I'll help as much as I can. I have a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H (780g and SB700) so it should be close to yours. I had the same problem as you. I found that in my bios I was running sata channels 4/5 as ide for my sata dvd drive. I switched 4/5 to sata type and move my sata dvd drive cable to sata port 1. That fixed the waiting for root device error for me.
