SuperHack
I posted this in another forum but I figured I'd get more responses from the post-installation area. Basically the only issue I am having with my system is that whenever Adobe Flash is open, the computer doesn't idle sleep. I used the RIP3IanNet script thing for auto sleep, and was wondering if someone could either help edit the script or find another solution. For those familiar with the script, flash is not under the "Safari" program (added "Safari:100" for kicks and didn't help) but I can't add Flash Player to the main.scpt with Open RIP 10.7. System Specs: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R NVIDIA GTS-450 Current script attached RIP3lanNet.app.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264703-adobe-flash-preventing-idle-sleep/ Share on other sites
Noam AA
can't help with the script, as i don't need it, but maybe i could help you in my hackintosh time i discovered couple of reasons my auto-sleep stopped working at first, it was the most common issue, TSSTcorp DVD Drive, the issue is those drives can't get to sleep without disk inside.so the solution is to put any disk inside your dvd drive. next thing is hard drive sleep, once i changed to other hard drive, it had some troubles with OSX caused a high LCC (Load Cycle Count) and bricked sleep for the drive. one more thing i don't know if helped me recover auto-sleep is the Q-connector (small connector which combine all tax related connectors into one- Power Button, LEDS, Reset Button, Speaker etc) also had issues getting auto-sleep with Edimax EW-7711UMn. Last thing that may brick auto-sleep is the Activity Leds. and also one time, i had my main SL refused to auto-sleep while clean install did no troubles. my suggestions is if you really want to try fix auto-sleep, try figuring the main reason that brick auto-sleep i.e disconnect all hardware, except hard-drive, try with clean installation, and even without any usb including mouse and keyboard, you can check if your drives go to proper sleep with CHUD Tools-SpindownHD.app (remember, if the drive can't sleep, you will not have auto-sleep) hope those will help you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264703-adobe-flash-preventing-idle-sleep/#findComment-1729845 Share on other sites
SuperHack
Thanks for your reply. But the thing is, if I go into activity monitor and only close out the Adobe player process and leave the computer, it will idle-sleep normally, which is why I'm almost certain it is Adobe causing these issues and don't want to go through the hassle of unplugging everything. Again, idle sleep works totally fine if Safari (and hence Adobe) are not open and wake works too.
