janoma
I tried to use a 1920x1440 resolution, but it seems my Nvidia doesn't support it (my monitor does). The monitor stopped receiving signal, and now I boot and the same things happens once I log into my account. Boot option "Graphics Mode=1024x768x32@60" doesn't work. Is there any option to boot "safely"? Or perhaps to boot with the last useful configuration. Thanks for your help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26439-screen-resolution-config-files/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
You can try booting in safe mode (boot option -x) and see if you can go select a new resolution. If that doesn't work, try deleting preference files containing your settings: Boot into single user mode (boot option -s) At the command prompt Type: /sbin/mount -uw / Type: /bin/rm /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist Type: /bin/rm /Users/(your-user-name)/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver* Type: /bin/rm /Users/(your-user-name)/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.preference.displays* Reboot (Edit: Later, I think I found the key file to delete, so I added it above (in red) for posterity. It should now work.) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26439-screen-resolution-config-files/#findComment-179354 Share on other sites
janoma
It didn't work... thank you anyway (By the way, I had to uninstall OS X, so now I'm just in Windows) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26439-screen-resolution-config-files/#findComment-179395 Share on other sites
