I want to install OS X x86 on my third hard drive. I'm not sure if I could run it though.

Specs: 1GHz PIII 512mb RAM 64mb NVIDIA GeForce Ti4200, Turtle Beach Montego II Sound Card (AU8830), DVD-ROM, 1GB hard drive master, (really), 20GB hard drive slave, 22GB hard drive secondary slave. 1GB=Windows Me, 20GB=Windows XP Pro, 22GB=FAT32, but I can format that since nothing is in it. That's where I'd like to install OS X x86 but I just want to know if my hardware is compatible.

So far as I know, the Pentium III doesn't support SSE2 or SSE3 instructions, which happen to be required to install and run OS X. Another 512MB of Ram would be good, not sure about the video card, you will probably have some major problems with the sound card, and after all that, it all comes down to the northbridge and southbridge chips.

To sum it up, sorry, it won't run on your system.

Aw, {censored}. Well, I have another option. I could use my other PC, and I've done OS X X86 on it before. 3GHz P4, 1GB RAM, Fx5200 so it'll work fine. But I'll have to partition, install, my dad will flip, etc.

I'm thinking install MS-DOS on the third hard drive somehow...
