pija_gorda
Hi all! I have my mac up and running and want to get some drivers (especially for my nvidia 8800GT - I have a very low screen resolution now), I've just been reading everywhere, and this must be my 8th or 9th time reinstalling OSx86 (using the nawcom mod as bootloader with the retail DVD - dualboot with Win7). The only thing I could do successfully after that is use the 10.6.7 update combo. Everything else I've tried ended up somehow or other rendering mac unable to boot. I just don't know what to do next! I googled and searched the forum, I couldn't find anything simple to follow that at least explains how the hell drivers in a hackintosh are supposed to be installed. Just advice (i.e. try using myHack, try using EFIdiverSomething, try using macvidia, look for assorted kexts [what are kexts?]) that either led me to broken links or stuff that broke my installation again. I'm not afraid to use the terminal or anything as long as I understand WHAT am I doing. am I missing something really obvious here? can someone put me into the right path? thanks a lot in advance guys, I've been frustrated for over 2 weeks now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264254-gettingsetting-up-drivers-after-installing-im-lost/ Share on other sites
pija_gorda
I'd say "{censored} you, everyone" but that would probably be too agressive and you'd delete my post or something- so I'm just going to say: what a dissapointing community :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264254-gettingsetting-up-drivers-after-installing-im-lost/#findComment-1740151 Share on other sites
