Marc Connor
I inserted my DVD, rebooted, used the -v flag. After all the messages, it goes to the blue screen and just hangs there. No action at all. How do I get it to work? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26420-hangs-at-boot/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
You've been around here for a while, so I'm sure you know that it takes 10 minutes or more to get through the initial blue screen until you see the installation window. Also, I'm sure you know that it really helps to give your computer configuration when asking for help. Marc Connor
Well, I'm on a notebook, and this problem is similar to http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t21121.html except that it's for post-installed boot. I am using the GoatSecx image, it does work if I plug it in to an external monitor, but I need it to be portable. Then you either need to plug a VGA dongle into the VGA port or use the 2-wire trick: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?ac...ost&id=1522 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26420-hangs-at-boot/#findComment-180703 Share on other sites
Marc Connor
1) How do I make a VGA Dongle? 2) What 'wires' should I use for the 2-wire trick? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26420-hangs-at-boot/#findComment-180855 Share on other sites
Rammjet
You don't "make" a dongle - you buy it or it comes with your computer or monitor. Looks like pieces of paperclip in the picture.
