genitiv
Hi everyone, I'd like to replace my onboard audio with a better sound card. Is there any card, which is fully working under Lion GM? It should have 6 channels + 2 input and a pci-e interface. If there aren't internal solutions, usb/firewire would be fine too, but i prefer the internal ones.. I want to do some recording, but mainly it's for listening to music/ watching movies. Can you recommend something close to this? btw, i'd like to spend no more than 80€.. thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263835-pci-e-soundcard-for-lion/ Share on other sites
genitiv
Well, I found out on my own.. though I couldn't find a pci-e card, i were able to free a normal pci slot in order to use it for sound. I now purchased a terratec aureon space 7.1 for less than 10 bucks at ebay. using the drivers for snow leopard provided on this site: http://www.audio-evolution.com/drivers/ (thanks to audiodriverwriter!!!) there are some other cards mentioned, which should also work in lion.. now i just had to throw out my voodooHDA.kext and reinstall the Envy24HTPCIAudioDriver.kext, which should be installed by the installer.. for some reason it hadn't been loaded in lion. but reinstalling using ##### and rebooting solved this problem. And right now I'm enjoying some great tunes Check out this thread too: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25145 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263835-pci-e-soundcard-for-lion/#findComment-1730561 Share on other sites
