keiko Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 Hi there : ) I'm thinking of buying a new computer, and to use Mac OS X on it. What I am after is maximum compatibility. I also want to buy a Apple Cinema Display 20" to use with the computer, so it's crucial that it'll work properly. Well then, the thing that I need you to help me with, is choosing the hardware. I've checked the hardware list in the Wiki, but I don't know if some pieces work better or worse with each other etc. So could you be so kind to write about your systems and how everything is working? As for the Apple display, you will need an ADD2 card, which will give you a DVI out that is linked to the mobo's GPU. Guest bikedude880 Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 The sound is crackly, but its hardly noticable unless you have the speakers cranked. As for the graphics card, as long as it has a DVI port, it will work with the Apple display, however, you might want to do some research in the wiki (again )to make sure it is compatible. I have heard the ATi x1000 series is good...
