readerr0r
Hi guys, I'm having trouble editing the DSDT for my Dual Xeon X5650 (Info Here) on a Dell T5500 with Intel 5520 Chipset (Info Here) running 8GB Ram in a triple channel config. After installing Snow Leopard with only one CPU installed running #####, and upgrading to 10.6.8. I put both CPUs and extracted my DSDT from a Unbuntu Live CD and started tweaking it. I've got HDMI audio, HPET and CMOS reset fixes applied but I still have two serious issues... 1. I can only get SL to boot if I only have 11 CPUs in my DSDT. About this Mac still says I have a dual 6-core Xeon but only sees 11. If go any higher than 11, I get an KP along the lines of "expecting a die with 6 cores, but only seeing 5" from ACPIPlatform. If I enable hyperthreading I get "expecting a die with 6 cores, but only found 7", even if I allow for just 22 CPUs in the DSDT. 2. KP if I dont use NullAppleIntelPower. This should of been solved when I fixed HPET but it still panics (I'm guessing because if problem 1). Without this, I lose Turboboost. I've checked out other 5520 chipset DSDTs, including d00d's 270-WS-W555 DSDT who has the same CPUs as me, but their CPUs entries are the same as my original. Any ideas? I've attached both my Original and my 'fixed' DSDT DSDTT5500.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263687-dell-t5500-dsdt-woes/ Share on other sites
