Hi. I currently use Gigabyte P35 DS3L rev 2.0 mother board , intel core 2 duo E6750 2.66ghz, 1GB X2 ram, and xfx geforce 8800gt.

I have taken out all the usb and hard drives i don't need. Set my motherbaord correctly too.

The problem is that when the installation bar reaches half, it always says "the installer could not copy the necessary support files."

I'm installing 10.6 retail version. I tried two different retail versions since i'm using unknown sources to get them. So far both of them shows the same error. (using transmac to burn them)

I tried using different bootloaders too. Chameleon and #####. Samething over and over though..

I really wish i can get this to work so help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I used the iATKOS s3 v2 method, and burning it to a DVD twice, once using Disk Utility, and once using Toast, produced the same results as yours, the installer would not copy the files. However, when I mounted the .iso (you could do the same with .dmg) on a Macbook Pro, and restored it to a USB Flash drive, installed Chimera 1.4.1 bootloader on the USB, it worked for me.

the usb method is simply the best solution because u can put kexts/drivers over it + faksmc which is the most important file so u can install mac on hackintosh ,forget about the cd method _it'll just makes u more and more frustrated no matter what u do because the original DVD meant only for the original Mac not hackintosh.

Exactly what I mean. Also, the installer boots up a lot faster with the USB, and installs pretty fast, too. USB's are the way to the future. :P

Thanks for the reply guys. Problem has been solved before you guys posted. What i did was install over the corrupted installation over and over... until i get a full bar and it would eventually get to it. It's really weird. lol. I will definitely try the methods you guys have told me next time. Seems like a better idea. I don't have any USB storage yet so it was hard for me. Thanks a lot!
