FuZi0n
Hey guys, Got Lion working except for my graphics card. It's a MSI nVidia Geforce GT430 1GB. I searched a bit at the 10.7.0 HCL at the Wiki, but I can't get it to work with those instructions. It seems like my com.apple.Boot.plist isn't working correctly or something because it doesn't boot when I don't put in the boot flags manually at chameleon. I use npci=0x2000 USBLegacyOff=Yes -v. When I try GraphicsEnabler=Yes, I get the apple logo (with correct resolution) after DSMOS has arrived, but it doesn't go any further. With NVEnabler.kext, it stops at ROM Shadow enable. I also tried NVEnabler.kext and Natit.kext, and I tried EFI string, GraphicsEnabler and NVEnabler.kext together, but also all three of them seperately and combinations of them. I guess I'm overlooking something, so I hope someone can enlighten me with some tips :-) Thanks in advance. Fukydamonky
Hi there I have a gigabyte GT 430 that was hanging at the same point. i found if i booted with -v -f it would boot. To finally get this working I used the string but also made sure that I had no graphics enabler i.e. NVEnabler etc and also made sure that Graphics Enabler was set to no in com.apple.Boot.plist. The only other way was with NVenabler in Extra, Graphics Enable set to true in com.apple.Boot.plist, the String for the graphics card in com.apple.Boot.plist and then had to also boot with -v -f Anyway you should see if removing all enablers including the setting in com.apple.Boot.plist and just use the efi string you may find this works. Let me know, as I may have another trick or two. I think the option key-string for Graphics Enabler in com.apple.Boot.plist is for those with supported cards or the card patched into their DSDT Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263451-req-help-with-nvidia-gt-430/#findComment-1723083 Share on other sites
chewara
have you installed the "official fermi Drivers" ? do i have to install them on Lion too? or are they integrated into Lion? i got the EVGA gt430 1gb and lion stops at PCI Configuration Begin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263451-req-help-with-nvidia-gt-430/#findComment-1723735 Share on other sites
FuZi0n
When it hangs at pci configuration begin then you should type npci=0x2000 at the chameleon bootloader screen. When I tried to install the nvidia drivers it came up with an error that the kexts could not be used, and I still haven't found a solution for the freeze after NVEnabler : probe: ROM Shadow enable. Anyway, I'll try using graphics enabler no and without any kexts or other stuff, and I'll let you know if it works. Thanks so far! FuZi0n
Weird. Have you tried it manually? Just putting that in my com.apple.boot.plist doesn't work for me either.
