Orsi3D
Hey there. Since Im not a Mac user but a long-time PC user I need your help. I need to install OSX to run Final Cut, but I cant find a way to install it. My PC specs are: AMD Phenom II 940 - 3.0Ghz Mainboard Asus M4N78 Pro - GeForce 8300 chipset 4 HDs - Windows 7 is installed in a RAID array 8Gbs RAM GeForce 9800GTX+ 512Mb I tried to install with several distros, including iPC 10.5.6 Universal Final, but everything I get is the classic 'waiting for root device' error if RAID is on or a black screen with a colored circle if AHCI or IDE is on. I already tried to use a IDE and a SATA DVD drive, no success at all. What I do? Is there a someway to bypass this issue? Any help is a nice help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263439-im-lost/ Share on other sites

Orsi3D
I got some progress with Hazard's 10.6.6i. I installed properly in VMWare, then I burned its image and reboot. The problem now is a "ebios read error controller or device" error message right after the setup starts... M92ManTis
Have you tried iATKOS s3 v2? It's the only thing that would work for me. Install it using a USB Thumb Drive, though. Orsi3D
I found that the error was due to some HD bad sectors. Im fixing it now and try again later It installed without any error, but during the first boot Im getting kernel panic... Do I have to load OSX using some switches like I did to install it (-v busratio=15)? When I tried it got stuck somewhere... Shall I wait more? How can find whats causing this problem? M92ManTis
I remember getting a kernel panic during my first boot too. Try booting with -x -v -s -f . This will get you in single user mode. Type "/sbin/fsck -fy" to verify your volume. Type "/sbin/mount -uw" to mount your hard-drive. Lastly, type "exit" to boot Mac OS X GUI.
