johnmaia
I just can't get my graphic card to work.. I tried pretty much everything, and so i'm doing a clean instalation o Lion so i can do this the right way. What Bootloader should i install? Does the bootloader matters? Should i use any kext? Should i use EFI Strings? I've tried Efi Strings and NVEnabler 64, but i ended up with this: Am i doing something wrong? Is there an easy installer? If you have a graphic card like this one, please! Tell me how the hell did you put your graphics card working
RODVAL
I have this card and works with no problem. Try to use Chameleon RC5 r1096 as bootloader. Add string in device-properties to your boot.plist, GraphicsEnabler=Yes. Use osx86 tools to obtain your string.
johnmaia
Doing a fresh install o Lion now to try that out. So i install Chameleon 2 RC5 r1096, and then i edit teh boot.plist that is where? In the Extra Folder?

I've got it once with the NVEnabler, but for some reason now, everytime i install NVEnabler i get that grey screen! Maybe i'm not using the right NVEnabler... I tried NVEnabler 64.kext, don't know what version it is. The only thing i know that it worked for me once, now it doesnt.

Ririholic
Delete all NVEnablers and kexts for card, because you can't use them all at the same time. You can use just one

Ririholic
Don't use EFI strings, GraphicsEnabler and NVEnabler at the same time. QE/CI is working if your menu bar is transparent, if you have those cool effects when you add widget on dashboard and if launchpad is working normal
johnmaia
I can say that i finally have it fully working. I've had the QE/CI enable all along, since i manage the system to recognize graphic card. I've just tried playing Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam, with a great performance! Thanks once again to all of you But specially to joss! Your the man!

Hi johnmaia, I have the same Nvidia 8600gt graphics card which was fully recognised in Snow leopard but haven't been able to get it working properly in Lion. I've tried updating an existing 10.6.6 system as well as a fresh install but always with the same result. System information tells me I have 6mb graphics and QE/CI is definitely not working. Please could you list exactly what you did to achieve this?
