AdrianFurtuna
So after a few tries, I managed to install OS X using iAtkos s3 v2 on my machine: MB: DFI Infinity P965 Proc: Intel 'Conroe' Core 2 Duo 2 Ghz. Ram: 4 gigs of Corsair DDR2 800 Graphics: Forsa Nvidia 250 GTS I have 2 HDDs: :1 250 GB with a Linux partition and an NTFS one and 2: 640GB with a windows 7 installtion on it. Unplugged the 640GB one and erased the Linux partition to put OS X on it. At first i've read some other guides for other configurations and of course that didn't work so on the 3rd try I installed it on my own. Worked from the first try, no panics no nothing. Managed to install my graphics card using the NVEnablre 64, works pretty good and shows both of my screens. Photoshop CS5 still doesn't work as good as i wanted it, but I can't complain. Now what I still have to work out: 1. Sound: It works using azeelia but my mic is not recognized. Tried voodooHDA (a few different kexts and removing appleHDA and so on) but it didn't work. Everytime I install voodooHDA kext (using kext helper) it get a kernel panic on boot. 2. About this Mac Crashes. I tried all the popular solutions, nothing works. System profiler works OK. 3. I can't make the other partitions writable (I work with photoshop and need to save on the other partitions) 4. I still can't boot normally, even tho I've set the partition active, wrote to MBR etc. I need to use the CD. If anybody has any ideas about my two small issues help would be welcomed. 3.14r2
Why not Retail install? On the hardware you have, Retail should work. 3 - NTFS partition? Yes, but I don't recommend doing so. It's unreliable and may result data lose. By default SL has native NTFS drivers enabled in read-only mode. It is possible to enable write support too. Also you might try a 3d party tools like NTFS-3G or similar. Probably the best solution would be to install HFS+ drivers to Windows (Apple has provided this driver with Boot Camp) and read all your files on OS X disk in Windows. 4 - Install Chameleon boot loader properly (including /Extra folder with all its usual contents - /Extensions, /Themes, org.chameleon.Boot.plist, SMBIOS.plist, DSDT/RSDT/SSDT tables). Thank you for you reply. Right now I'm trying to enjoy and get aquatinted withs OS X. Once I feel comfortable enough I will try a retail Install. See it works. I suppose I can't just install over as an update Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263230-succesful-instalation-on-a-dfi-infinity-p965/#findComment-1721336 Share on other sites
