CorreoMail
Hello guys Im running 10.6.8 SL with vanilla kernel on a E5700 Intel Processor so is suppose to be a Dual Core but the Mac info dectect it as a Intel Core 2 Duo. I know that Lion runs only on Intel Core 2 Duo minimun and I have Dual Core but because Im running a vanilla SL on a Dual Core without extra modifications Im wondering if Lion would capable to run Lion or not. CPU-X show the instructions: SSE SSE2 SSE3 EM64T VMX Thank you all Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263145-intel-e5700/ Share on other sites
goodguess
I am using a E5700 as well and would be interested in this topic too. As far as I figured out, the E5700 is a Wolfdale design and some Core Duos are Wolfdales as well. So its maybe only name changing for branding/marketing? TommyDaB1G
Short answer: YES I have an E2200, SL with vanilla kernel runs perfectly, I tried Lion, and it does too :)Mine has "Conroe" core, and so do some later C2D models. The case is the same with the Wolfalde CPUs. It seems to be only a brand change, or some minor changes in the CPU itself. The core is the same and this is what matters.
