Hi guys,

mi question maybe is a little odd..

The fact is that I'd like to install on the new VPC-Z, which have two ssd in raid 0, both windows 7 and Lion (or at least, for the moment, Snow Leopard).

I'd like to do it using raid 0 , installing at first Lion (maybe doing raid 0 with Lion utilities them-selves) and then installing windows 7 through bootcamp. Is it possible???

"Fake" raid won't work on Lion because it's not officially supported by Apple. You have to do Software RAID by Apple's Installer. Watch out though, with Lion and Chameleon, Apple Software RAID will not play will with each other unless you mod something with kernelcache. Search forum for it.

edit: I think it's better off if you break those two SSD out into individual ones and install OS on each one of those SSD. Dual boot with 2 hard drives is very easy. First install Lion/Snow on one of them with Chameleon bootloader in it. Then remove that drive from your computer (YES, yank the SATA cable frome Mac drive), and put in the other drive to install Win 7 on it. Once done installing both, put Mac on 1st controller, and Windows 7 on the second. Turn on your machine and Chameleon will detect both and allows you to boot both. Very easy no headache dealing with bootloader mess.

Yeah, you're right... that was my fear.

And you're right too, not making a raid about those ssd would be better. The problem is that the configuration would be 2 module of 64GB .. so 64GB per each system... not so much space for Seven in this case... I don't know if I'll be able to buy the configuration with 256GB..

EDIT: question.. if I do what you say... is it possible to shrink the OSX ssd in two partition.. which one is in ntfs and make it readable by windows 7 on the other ssd?? In that case I think that it would be ok for me..

Obviously, if I'll be able to get 128x2, it would be perfect.

I followed this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=256729 ... tomorrow Z will arrive.

I installed un usb Extra Lion and NOT Extra Lion DP4, GM and FINAL since this one doesn't show me the button to change location. Same problem with some Chameleon RC5 installer.. but one works, it's version r801.

EDIT: since at the moment there's no "advanced bios" hack for this laptop, I can disable raid0 but I cannot turn raid control into AHCI.. so nothing at the moment.
