I'm installing OSX 10.4.7 (JaS iso) right now.

it's installing the OS right now. here's my computer specs:

 

asus a8v deluxe (via 8237 southbridge or something)

venice 3000+

2 gig PC3200

radeon 9800 pro

40 gig maxtor IDE

120 gig seagate SATA

 

i selected the two AMD customizations and the wireless one. i'm installing to the 40 gig maxtor IDE (one primary partition).

 

i wasn't supposed to select the Via SATA customization, right? will i be able to access my SATA drive for storage use?

 

when it finishes installing and my computer reboots, should i take the DVD out of the drive or leave it in?

 

well...uh...it's loading. i left the DVD in the drive.

 

i see a bunch of messed up graphics. uh oh. =/

 

it's a black screen with a bunch of white dots. i can move a black mouse cursor. i'm guessing the video driver didn't load too well.

 

update:

 

i boot with '-x "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32" platform=X86PC' and it works

 

my wireless, my USB ports, my ethernet plug, and my sound are not working.

 

i don't have an extensions folder in /system/library/. can someone please host or send me IO80211family.kext?

 

my USB isn't working...how am i supposed to even transfer files to the computer? anyone?

 

update 2:

 

after hours of trial and error, i still can't get my USB, wireless, ethernet, or sound working.

 

i'm reinstalling right now with the 2 AMD customizations and the soundblaster USB customization.

 

i wish my components would be recognized and worked right away =/ maybe i should go for the 10.4.6 build.
