Silare
Hi all, I've been trying to get Mac running on my Dell XPS L502x (specs at bottom of post). I obtained a retail DMG of 10.6.3 (two different ones, actually). Using ##### Legacy, I booted into a modified 10.6.3 image (I took the retail and added files for MBR and USB3 support) which successfully booted into the installer. For the flash drive and setting it up to 'restore' the 10.6.3 retail to it, every combination of the following has been used... I've tried both GUID and MBR. I've tried Mac OS X Extended, Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), and Mac OS X Extended (Journaled, Case-sensitive). Strangely enough though, mid-installation (literally at the halfway point or right before), it always halts abruptly, shows the yellow warning sign, and says "Install Failed" and underneath "The installer could not copy the necessary support files." The specs for my L502x are as follows (taken from the specsheet I got from Dell): 2nd generation Intel Core i5-2410M processor 2.30 GHz 8GB,DDR3,2 DIMM 15.6FHD TLF B+RGLED LCD L50xX (1920 x 1080) NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M 1GB graphics with Optimus 500GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 Thanks for reading. If you have any ideas, please post -- I've been at this for a few weeks straight now.
