Can't double click, odd icon labels

System specs below. I installed sl, updated to 10.6.8 and used a dsdt for my mobo from tonymac's database and on reboot i had sound, dual monitors, networking etc everything seemed fine.

 

The only issues I'm encountering are:

 

Double clicking files do nothing. I've messed with the mouse prefs but opening folders works fine. I have resorted to using the command click 'open with' dialog for most everything.

 

The labels for icons on the desktop are cut off. Without clicking an icon you cant even see the label text and when you do you can only see maybe a 10th of the entire label. When you try to rename an icon the text is confined to like a 2 character column and the other characters just wrap into new lines.

 

 

I also can not wake up from sleep, but that really is my last concern, I'd just really like to get the other issues sorted out.
