Hi there! I'm Jared. I'm trying to install OS X on my Toshiba laptop, but I'm having some issues, most likely due to the generic hardware on my laptop. Here's the specs:

Model: Toshiba L505-S5971

Motherboard: Toshiba Base

-- North Bridge: Intel GM45/GM47 Revision 07

-- South Bridge: Intel 82801IM (ICH9-M) Revision 03

Processor: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz

-- MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, ET64, XD, EST

Memory: 4GB DDR2

Wireless: Intel® WiFi Link 5100 AGN (believe it is incompatible)

Wired: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

Video: Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Internal)

-- 128MB Dedicated Memory & 1631MB Shared Memory

Sound: Realtek High Definition Audio

More details here..

Now, I have tried using ##### + Retail OS X and the only issues with it are that it only has one resolution (no display enabled?), wireless or wired does not work, USB does not work (devices are powered but OS X doesn't recognize), and the system fan is bipolar. I have tried the enablers and kexts that come with ##### and have been unsuccessful.

I'm trying iATKOS next, and then the other flavors of OSx86 if necessary. However, I'm hoping for someone to be able to tell me if my hardware is even compatible before I go through all the steps.

If you need any more information, feel free to ask.

Thanks! :P

I'll try that next, thanks!

I have got an old Toshiba laptop P4

I just install Hazard 10.6.6i on it and use Iatkos V7 disk to put generic ide on it becos if I dont it will hang on trying to find root.

Then with yours you can upgrade to 10.7 Lion with no problems.
