intel gma 950 issue for kalyway 10.5.2

i am having

xp on c:

and

kalyway 10.5.2 on disk0s5

 

after i am using dvd for boot os from hdd by pressing F8 and it starts with apple logo and gone smoothly

and i am getting 1900*600*60 resolution with intel gma 950 and os works like charm

 

now i set partition c: active using

terminal: ->sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0

->p or print

->f 1 or flag 1

->write and -> exit

now i am able to boot xp from drive c smoothly

but i lose smooth osx booting with logo

now i have to specify

rd=disk0s5 by pressing F8 no apple logo appeared at boot time and i am stuck with 1024*768 resolution

help?

 

i have partition 1 as hfs and 2 as dos extended

it works alternatively by making either of one active

but i want xp to run and boot osx with apple logo or dual boot

i just solved it

solution:

c: xp

d: intalled kalyway 10.5.2

now d: is active drive

so boot it with dvd keep pressing F8 it will start with apple logo

now start terminal

check for disk

 

1. diskutil list

mine disk0

 

2. sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0

or

2. fdisk -e /dev/disk0 if booted from dvd.

 

3. p or print for printing mbr record

 

4. here in my case partition no 2 was active partition so xp can't boot now

you can verify it by * sign at begining of line on the left side

 

5. f 1 or flag 1

so first partition will become active and for booting xp.

 

6. write

 

7. quit

 

8. exit and restart

now you can toggle active partitions for booting but who wants that

 

9. reboot osx and now you will be shifted on xp on drive c: only

 

10. you can still boot osx by dvd using F8 and rd=disk0s5, disk0s5 in my case you can find your disk name from disk utility

but i got graphic driver problem in this i can't get now 1600*900 resolution i stuck with 1024*768

so i decided to fix it

 

11. download easybcd 2.0 or latest in xp and install it.

 

12. now google for BCD or copy boot folder from windows 7 dvd which contains bcd.exe

and paste on drive c:

 

13. now open bcd file from easybcd

now clean each entry

and add new xp entry

and mac entry,,,,, you can add EFI and MBR both incase one not working and later you can modify it

you can also add windows 7 if you want

but i have xp only so i had add xp and osx only

 

now

install MBR from that with windows7 boot loader not xp remember.

 

14. now restart and voilla dual boot.

 

Note:

i had installed cameleon on osx but i have no idea how its working

i have done these process after installing cameleon on osx

so first install it.

 

if you unable to boot after doing this

you can always fix mbr

 

1. boot xp cd

2. Press R for repair

now enter your administrator password

now

3. fixmbr

4. yes

5. exit

 

now you can boot xp using boot.ini

not windows 7 bootloader

 

you can try again. easybcd.
