I installed 10.5.7 on a Dell Mini 9 for my daughter and it worked great for a couple years. A few days ago while she was transferring some files the system crashed. So it was giving the error:

boot0: MBR

boot0: Done

boot1: Error

I figured somehow the bootloader got screwed up so I've tried reinstalling it using a USB drive.

The bootefi script has four options: EFI, or Darwin X86, and MBR or GUID. I've tried all the methods, and using the EFI/GUID method, I can at least get to the Mac startup screen (gray apple, spinning wheel) but I can't get it past that.

Am I using the right bootloader? How do I figure out what installation options are right? Any ideas welcomed!

Boot using the GUID option with verbose mode (-v) and take a photo of the messages on screen (then post the photo here)
