DrewDigity
I am going to purchase a barebones computer system from a site such as Tigerdirect.com. I want to run OSX so I can use such programs as Final Cut Pro and other multimedia software. What hardware specifications should I look for or does anyone possibly know a good barebones deal that would work well for all my multimedia needs. wondergod
Not really a barebone but this is what I got...you might wanna switch out the celeron for something a lil more powerful....or you might not want to get this at all...but hey at least its something...my suggestion just look on the Wiki's HCL's and look up anything your thinking of buying... Motherboard:Gigabyte GA-8I945GZME-RH Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945GZ Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $67.99 CPU: Intel Celeron D 346 Prescott 533MHz FSB LGA 775 EM64T 64-Bit Processor w/ Execute Disable Bit Model $59.00 Video Card: SAPPHIRE 100156L Radeon X1600PRO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Overclocked Edition CrossFire Ready $89.99 also there is a 20 dollar MIR that expires today. Total without tax or shipping at newegg: $216.98 $196.98 after MIR EDIT: intel chipsets like the 915 and 945 and i think the 975 all seem to work the best with the easiest installs...stay away from the 965 if you plan on using SATA(although I could be wrong I only own a 915 and a 945) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26204-want-to-build-a-mac-with-amd-or-intel-what-should-i-get/#findComment-177567 Share on other sites
