Hi i have a ASUS IPBL-LB motherboard my computer is a hp pavillion elite m9000t

  • Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
  • Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512mb
  • 3 gb Ram
  • 2 hdd
  • Snow leopard 10.6.3 (iatkos s3 v2)
  • Bios version Mod 5.17

I have installed leopard before going into snow leopard in leopard 10.5.6 i believe sleep was working on my system but then after update it will break and the issue was NEVER solved. Then after Snow leopard came out i quickly installed it but still no sleep and no FIX ..i really need help with this guys i have a machine that can help others in a different forum with the same machine as me . I installed snow leopard countless times with DSDT patcher and auto patcher and none of them fixes my SLEEP issue nor does SLEEP enabler work for me...so i give up on this hoping someone smarter than me would figure it out but it never happened. so now i installed LION 10.7 DP4 on my system to test it out i was amazed how easily i got it running but it still has no sleep anyways i added somekexts to the lion partition which messed it all up so i had to use my snow leopard install disc IATKOS S3 V2 to install SNOW LEOPARD on a different partition to see what i did wrong . I discovered when i installed SNOW LEOPARD i have a fully working machine i tested sleep, restart, shutdown working FLAWLESSLY on 10.6.3 :( . with NO DSDT.aml. after update to 10.6.8 it breaks sleep :P . So i try to back up my extensions and then copy them back over and its a no go.. I need someone that can give me the right direction or help me out i need to know how to keep sleep on 10.6.8. i tried rolling back iousbfamily still don't work i will upload my dsdt if anyone needs it

did you ever checked if the DSDT you tried to load even loaded? you can do it by flag in boot "Wait=Yes" and also do -v to see what's going on, the chameleon boot part will start, and you will see if the dsdt got loaded.

so far, DSDT is the best solution for a lot of things, you can try go to the DSDT forum or the GREAT Thread by Mald0n DSDT-AutoPatcher, and ask for help with your dsdt, see if everything is ok with it.

i can tell you that i am no expert in dsdt editing, but from what i've learned by a lot of trails, simple note can break sleep, and even other things.

if it used to work, then it must work with dsdt, cause IATKOS is a distribution, and comes with a lot of patched kexts to make it work on most systems. when you do update, you break this kexts, therefor break sleep.

hope it helps a bit

I tried with DSDT.aml in extra folder and loaded it up with the -v ..i never tried the wait=y .but i guess what i can do is use a dsdt auto patcher by Maldon on 10.6.3 and save the DSDT before upgrading to 10.6.8 and i will try to upload and see what breaks but thanks for the tip. but how does sleep work with no DSDT.aml installed ? i think its one of the modified kexts used in IATKOS and then after update it breaks? so i am going to back up all my extensions ,DSDT,Extra folder before update thanks..=)

will do Maldon
