laine
Hi all. I know that some normal macs are shipped with noisy loud hard drives, but that's not my case - just got a dualboot system (which is: iAtkos S3 10.6.3 at harddrive, Linux booting off USB drive, thus and lots of data stored on harddrive's second partition) with a fresh bought Lenovo laptop. The problem: when using OSX, I hear annoying clicks from within case. It's definitely not a soundcard output, neither the drive is faulty - I can watch movies from it using linux's live usb, and it emits no noise, SMART is ok too. I went to control panel and turned off energy saving; yet, hard drive still stops each 2-5 minutes. Is there any console voodoo for completely disabling this annoying drive-damaging "feature"!? There is a 10.4 topic where someone encountered same problem - without getting answers..
