Pistantan
Hi guys, Been a while just reading the forums, and never posted as I do enjoy the search button. But I have an issue that no one seems to be having, and I kinda need some help. I'm going on dispair mode right now. I've had SL installed on my Dell Mini 10 for ages and never had an issue with it, but trying to install it on my main rig is proving a nightmare in the wireless department. I've successfuly installed the RTL8187B software, the tool (Realtek) works, does detect my network and does connect to it. However I'm not being able to get DHCP configuration and so in the network settings it appears as no network (orange). When I set it to manual and config it it turns to connected (green). But there's no network at all, can't even ping the router. Any ideas? Thanks! 3.14r2
Seem much like a networking problem in 10.6.8... But if I understand you correctly, there is 10.6.6 in the system? Any way try this solution (#96 bottom part). Who knows... Pistantan
Man, I feel so embaressed right now :pirate2: I updated chameleon (the string was actually already in my smbios.plist) and it didn't work. Only then I thought of the one thing that I should've tried in the first place. Disabling the router's security did it. I had it in WPA2 and somehow the tool connected ok but the system is having a hard time with it. I'll give it a try with WPA and WEP to see what can be done Thanks for the help! Edit: Just changed to WPA and works like a charm. It's only a WPA2 problem... damn I feel stupid right now Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260907-sl-1066-asus-p5k-wifi-problem/#findComment-1704655 Share on other sites
