shaq774 Posted June 26, 2011 Share Posted June 26, 2011 System config: AMD Phenom X4 9650 Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P NVIDIA GEFORCE 9400GT I installed SL 10.6.3 retail through ModCD (latest ver.). ModCD selected best options for AMD & PS2 MOUSE & Keyboard & for NVIDIA GC. Hence, i did not bother to customize. It installed perfectly. But when i shut down/restart the computer, the screen would turn purple get stuck and won't shutdown. When it won't restart or shutdown i had to forcibly shut it down. Then when the computer was restarted, i got a CMOS error message and it told me to select certain profile options. Then it started OK, but when i again restart the computer again, the screen would get stuck again. And now when i restart it forcibly, it won't start AT ALL!. I had to reset the CMOS to start the computer. After having this "experience" for a couple of times, i got fedup and reformatted the PC and installed the trusted WIN7 and Ubuntu. If any people have definite solutions to my problem, i will reinstall the SL. Any help is appreciated.
