GD with no MAC!!
Hi all I have a Lenovo T400 with the Intel 5300AGN wireless card, after a lot of searching Ive come to the conclusion its best to replace the card than wait or use a USB Card. So I have two questions; 1. Should this work on my T400, obv will with OS as its Apple, link here 2. Are there any recommended cards that will work with SL / Lion and with Windows 7 (preferably 300mbps)? Ive seen many suggestions to get an Atheros based card, Im guessing Airports use these? Thanks in Advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260623-replacement-for-intel-5300agn-wireless-card/ Share on other sites
3.14r2
Basically you have choice between two manufacturers Broadcom and Atheros. Apple uses some models of the above manufacturers. In short any card that is used in any Apple's computer should work. However some cards might need to be rebranded using Linux (both Broadcom and Atheros card can be rebranded) as each manufacturer (including Apple) uses its own SubVendor/SubDevice IDs. For instance, a card from Lenovo notebook might have SubVendor/SubDevice ID of IBM/Lenovo. The card might not function properly if the above IDs doesn't match with Apple's. However SubVendor/SubDevice ID could also be changed via DSDT. So there is something to chose from. Broadcom and Atheros and another Atheros Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260623-replacement-for-intel-5300agn-wireless-card/#findComment-1703051 Share on other sites
