sirenum
Hi My hackintosh has been running smoothly for a long time now, updates have never been a problem Now with 10.6.8 the system won't boot anymore. It gives me the infamous "Still waiting for root device". I cannot even boot with ##### or -x in chameleon. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? I've included the boot log. sirenum
Just in case someone has the same problem: Rolling back IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext in /System/Library/Extensions did the trick. thewierdone2000
I had this same problem. Unfortunately rolling back the two mentioned kexts caused kernel panic later down the line (Rolled them back to the 10.6.7 version) Anyone have any ideas on how to get past this? Krishna21
I don't know about rolling back to the 10.6.7 version, but on TonyMacX86's Site they posted a certain modified IOPCI version. That one worked for me. But, it could be the same as 10.6.7, idk. No harm in trying though. Good luck! aliab
To get rid of "Still waiting .." in 10.6.8, first make sure your smbios.plist matches your processor! like for Lion install You can find in Extra folders here : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...258485&st=0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260607-no-boot-after-1068-update/#findComment-1716890 Share on other sites
