Old lurker, new poster - Install issue

Hi there,

 

I've been lurking for qutite a while hoping some of the answers would appear to solve my problem without the need for adding yet another request for help to the board. Anyway despite my best efforts here's my problem, I hope somebody nice can shed some light.

 

10.4.6 Jas install on Intel D945GTP and Celeron D 331. Can do the whole partition, install selected 10.4.6 patch and intel SSE3 patch. Go to boot using Chain0 method and the darwin loader starts, blue screen comes up then system reboots. Now I did see something somewhere about a potential issue with the D945 boards and CPUID patch but I failed to find any further information.

 

I've also tried switching to the SSE2 patch and also doing the "cp /mach_kernal /volumes/osx" also.

 

Finally and hopefully I can get some clarity here too I can't get the verbose mode when booting the installed (and rebooting) partition. F8 and <ctrl> aren't letting me access the boot options to -v it.

When you boot, the screen first turns black and then grey with a spinning icon.

 

As soon as the screen turns black, start tapping the F8 key quickly and repeatedly until a command prompt appears. If the grey screen appears, you missed your opportunity and must start over.
