tvon Posted June 23, 2011 Share Posted June 23, 2011 [edit: NEVERMIND, it's a 4 core, 8-thread CPU, duh] I've been using this Hack for work for two months and just realized that half of the iStat menu CPU displays are always near-flat, and now I see that "System Profiler" says the machine has 4 cores. Ideas on what is wrong and what I need to do to fix this? I can find some older posts about modifying the bios, is this necessary? MatzeOS86 Posted June 23, 2011 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Well, thats not a problem, its just normal. The i7 has only 4 cores, but it has 8 threads. Thats why the System Profiler says your machine has 4 cores.
