carnid
I'm a complete newbie here but have managed to browse through this great site and got 10.4.6 running almost 100% on a Dell Dimension E510 (without sound or wireless but working on it...). Anyway - my questions: Now that I have the setup going well, I want to begin moving my work and files over and start using the Dell/Mac as my main workstation. I am somewhat hesitant as I am worried if a system crash occurs or if I decide later to try one of the upgrade patches to 10.4.7, etc. and it screws up my system. Is there an easy way to recover work from a crashed OSX partition? If windows crashes on me I know how to deal with it and I have enough experience with Linux to recover my work but never tried on OSX - so anyone with any experience here who would care to share their thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated Did I already say - fantastic site!! Rammjet
I keep all of my files on a separate Data partition. That way I can wipe and reinstall my OS without affecting them.
