lordabortion
Hello everyone! I've lurked for a few years, grabbing pieces of information as I needed, but the time has come for me to request some assistance in getting my own machine to boot OS X. I'll first give you a list of the components I am using, followed by tried and verified non-working methods I've used. Asus P6t Deluxe V2 Mobo Intel i7 920 CPU Corssair XMS 3 DDR3 1600 Western Digital 500GB Blue Gigabyte 8800 GTS 256mb Asus PCE-N13 I've been working from this guide, thanks to dgobe. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=208724 I've downloaded the v_15 iso bootloader and burned that of course, followed by OS X 10.6.3 similar to the one found @ Demonoid. I follow the instructions, trying each commandline variant of GraphicsEnabler, yet I never get to an install screen or even see the "press y to continue" prompt. I started out using my gtx460, and when that had the same result, I figured the 8800 would have a little more compatibility, alas I was wrong. I'm trying to get to know Mac OS so I can be a better rounded tech and see if I'd like the OS enough to warrant buying an Apple. Can anyone here shed some light or has seen this particular issue? Thanks everyone for glancing, and the wealth of knowledge in these forums! lordabortion
Ok, I managed to get some things working. I swapped out the 8800 for my GTX 460, installed 10.6.3, updated to 10.6.8, ran #####, and installed the p6t deluxe v2 dsdt. I can boot into normal mode via ##### and the PCIRootUID=1 string, GPU, Wifi, everything works, but the DMG files. I downloaded chrome and steam, verified file integrity, and all I get is Device not configured. Does anyknow know how to defeat this most lame of errors?
